How It Works

The Horse Institute's Next-Level Communication Skills workshop is designed to develop individual's engagement competencies, including:

-
Congruence: does what you say match what you feel?
-
Defining objectives and audience needs
-
Organizing content for clarity and convincingness
-
Making a connection -- one-on-one, small group and large audience
-
Managing Q&A -- especially the most challenging questions

This open enrollment program allows participants to interact with peers from other industries who face similar challenges. To ensure quality engagement, the workshop is limited to 16 participants and lasts two days.

2 Day Workshop Includes...

...Clifton Strengths online personal assessment -- completed by each participant and submitted for faculty review in advance of the program.

...Series of 30-minute experiential, goal-oriented exercises led by certified facilitators in partnership with equine faculty.
No prior horse experience required.
No horseback riding involved.
...Activity-by-activity debrief with leadership experts who have successful track records with Fortune 100 companies and the world's best academic institutions.

...Deep-dive exploration to call out "Aha!" moments, capture insights and draw parallels to the day-to-day work environment.

...Wrap-up outlining specific action items and behaviors that can transform team productivity and workplace performance.
Today's Reality
Traditional communication and speaker training are a good foundation for learning how to make a presentation, get to the point, prepare effective slides, handle the tough questions, on-camera role play, write a clear letter and run a webinar. While these tips and tools are helpful, they don't necessarily get to the heart of what makes...or breaks...an effective communicator: how you show up and whether that motivates and inspires those around you to engage fully.

A Fresh Reality
At The Horse Institute, taking communication skills to the next level means learning all you expect from a top-notch communications course taught by seasoned blue-chip managers...and more. The horses give honest and unfiltered feedback on your intention, energy, non-verbal communication skills and how congruent you are: is what you are saying consistent with what you feel?
Eye-Opening Results
Participants and their employers consistently report that communication skills coaching at The Horse Institute takes them to a whole new level of awareness, intention and connection that can lead to career-changing results.
